Today is your last day in Year 1!

I wish we were spending the day together having so much fun. Unfortunately, our year was cut short but I’d like to say I am so proud of you all. A big well done and thank you to your amazing families for tackling home learning, plus their job and sometimes looking after other children too- not an easy task!

I hope you all have an amazing summer. Everyone deserves a well earned rest this year! I look forward to seeing you all in September as Year 2! Mrs Murley is a very lucky teacher to get such a wonderful class 😊

I will remember you all and this crazy year for many years to come!🌈

Love,

Mrs Clennell and Mrs Howe xx

Evie 😊

Evie enjoyed awarding her sister, Freya with a star medal and certificate. She also created her bucket list. She wants to go swimming, have bike rides and go on a rollercoaster in the summer holidays. Sounds like you are going to have a fun filled holiday!

Evie has also been very creative making Barbie dresses from balloons. What fantastic clothes!

On Sunday, Evie and her family had a trip to the zoo. They had lots of fun, and managed to see lions, giraffes, tigers and so much more. What a great trip!

Well done, Evie 🌟

Fair Trade Patrick’s VisitπŸ’™β˜•πŸ’š

Mrs Biggs has asked us to share Fairtrade tea producer, Patrick Kaberia, experiences of a Fair Trade farmer with you! This short film features Patrick answering questions about tea farming in Kenya and Fairtrade.

https://schools.fairtrade.org.uk/resource/patricks-virtual-visit/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=engagingnetworks&utm_campaign=EC_patrick&utm_content=EC+Patrick

Patrick talks about climate change and the impact it is having on tea farmers in the part of Kenya where he lives.

There are also fun activities you can do including:

A Home Learning Challenge sheet

Background Notes – a little more information about tea, the FAIRTRADE Mark and co-operatives

A worksheet for students – using Google Maps or an atlas to find out more about where tea is grown plus a design activity where students think about what information they want to see on packaging

The Negotiating Game – a group activity to show the power of working together

Consumer Power activity – a class activity that uses graphs and charts to show how we can make a difference with our shopping choices

Ideas for a discussion around where the things we buy come from

Mrs Biggs would love to see any work you do. Have fun exploring and learning about Patrick’s job.

Final Learning Fun Pack πŸ“’βœβ˜Ί

I can’t believe this is the final Learning Pack I am sending you!
This week I have attached a Learning Fun Pack. In school at this time of year we would be doing sports days, leaving assemblies, summer crafts etc. We would be having fun and enjoying our last week together.
Some have requested a more formal plan like previous weeks so I have attached that too if you wish to do some of those activities. I appreciate you will have 6 weeks to have fun now things are starting to get back to ‘normal’
You can collect paper copies of either Learning Pack if you phone school and arrange a collection time.
If you need any help or advice please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I will try my best to help in any way I can.
